How State-of-the-Art Body Sculpting Technology Works
Fat cells freeze at higher temperatures than surrounding tissues. CoolSculpting® technology safely delivers precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin. The treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), and then die. Over time, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells, so you can expect about a 20%–25% fat reduction in the treated area.
While individual results may vary, most patients experience visible differences within the first few weeks after their treatment. The most dramatic results occur approximately two to three months after treatment. So many patients are thrilled with their results, they decided to retreat the area for more dramatic results.

How do I prepare for my CoolSculpting® treatment?
- Your Privé-Swiss MedSpa provider will develop a customized treatment plan during your consultation to address your specific area(s) of concern
- Your treatment plan may require multiple sessions (or visits)
- Inform your provider of any changes in medical history and of all medications you are taking.
- Stop any medications that thin your blood as bruising in the areas of treatment is possible. If you are unsure about whether your medications are blood thinners please review this with our providers. Over the counter medications like aspirin, anti-inflammatories and fish oil supplements may also exacerbate bruising and should be discontinued.
- Wear comfortable, loose clothing to your appointment.
- Our comfortable treatment rooms offer large screen televisions for entertainment. You may also want to bring your own iPad, knitting or reading materials to enjoy during treatment. Treatment times vary from one to five hours.

What takes place during treatment?
- During your treatment, a gel pad or gel and applicator are applied to the targeted area
- Vacuum applicators draw the tissue into the cooling cup
- Surface applicators are secured to the treatment area
- The applicator then delivers controlled cooling to the targeted fat
- During the procedure you may experience sensations of pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, and cramping at the treatment site. These sensations subside as the area becomes numb.
